The truth about information on the web

Looking for all that research for your paper can seem like an easy job, but how do you know that the research that you come across is real? In the past I have needed to look up many things using the web witch today most of the things we do consist of using the web to find the information we need. I have come across so many different and weird information for something that I knew that what I found couldn't be right. Today so many people put out so many things on trying to get people to believe what they want them to that there is not much information that tells the truth. In order to find a good information site, I would make sure it wasn't based from a school or student. I would then make sure the information was from source that could be trusted they gave many areas were the web site got the information. However no matter if you think the site tells the truth you can never be 100% sure, sometimes it works best if you go back to the old way of looking things up in books.

Everything you say here is completely true! You never know who put up the website you're looking at and if the website is factual and reliable or not. It's sort of like the trick Mr. Chisnell played on us in the computer lab about the octopus. Another way to make sure the website is factualy is to check and see if there are sources listed from the author telling where they got their info. Another way is to check with other reliable websites to see if the information they are presenting is really true, or just made up.
